Je ne me souviens plus le moment exacte quand je me suis pris d’un coup de coeur pour la langue française, mais c’était vraiment le coup de coeur. C’est vrai que j’aurai du faire en plus pour le pratiquer, et je ne lis pas souvent, mais l’amour pour la langue est toujours là– et peut-être une des raisons pour laquelle j’ai décidé de m’installer dans quelques années sur Toulouse, ma ville adoptée…

I also plan to revive my rather rusty Spanish – which will prove very useful when living close to the Spanish border! – and my even rustier Italian. Can be very confusing liking Romance languages as they are all so similar, and yet not.

My mother tongue is Panjabi but having lived in London since the age of 3, it is now virtually non-existent. My husband and I have attended a couple of courses in Panjabi, so are now fairly familiar with the Gurmukhi script and I can recall a fair amount of vocabulary, but so far have been rather disappointed with the level of classes available – so if anyone knows of any good teachers in South East London, get in touch!
