…creating things of beauty
I have always enjoyed the whole process
of creating something — from designing it, collecting
materials, working with those materials to produce the finished
product – and finally appreciating the pleasure that
this thing of beauty can generate…
I have spent some time developing a
range of jewellery using coloured wire, beads and sequins,
a process which has also lent itself to other items such as
tealight holders, dream catcher cards, lampshades, napkin
rings, and so on…
I am inspired by the vibrant colours
I have been accustomed to and feel drawn to as part of my
Indian background — peacock blues, greens, purples …
but I also like to work with more natural shades. As each
bead and sequin is randomly threaded onto the wire, I love
the fact that each piece is transformed into a unique combination
of colour and texture. As with all my creative projects, this
is constantly changing as I’m inspired by new ways of
working with these materials.
The following are just a few of the
items that I have produced so far, but I would also be happy
to create a personalised piece to suit your particular needs.
If you would like to take a closer look at my work, or discuss
a commission, you will find me at Greenwich
Market every Friday and the first Sunday of each month. If you can't make it to
the market or to the nearby reddoor gallery feel free to give me a call on 07854 364 120.
